10:10 France organises a free concert for the Day Of Doing

Paris gets set for its 10:10:10 concert

Crowds gather for the 10:10:10 event in Paris

After Thursday’s exciting news that Paris has signed up to be a 10:10 city, the French 10:10 team has organised a huge free concert outside the iconic Hotel de Ville.

A team of 50 volunteers worked through the night to erect an amazing stage and put the finishing touches to the concert plans. And as the Day of Doing dawned, Paris rewarded their hard work with glorious blue skies and one of the sunniest days in months!

The10:10 love has been spreading around the romantic capital after Parisian Mayor Bertrand Delanoe set the scene with the following announcement:

“For the city of Paris, 10:10 is an invitation to act concretely and determinedly. I am very happy about this partnership.”

At the gig, top French artists (and 10:10 signups) performing include Tryo, Abd al Malik, Liz McComb and Tete Asa, plus comedian Marc Jolivet.

Concert organiser Olivier and French environmental legend Yann Arthus-Bertrande, the president of Good Planet, will introduce the event and explain more about 10:10 and cutting carbon.

There will also be demonstrations of solar and wind energy and NGOs giving out more information in tents around the square. The team behind ‘Velib’ (Boris Bike’s French cousin) will also be offering discounted subscriptions to concert-goers.

To get the party started, people will be joining an hour bike tour, starting at 14.30 at the Louvre and ending up at the Hotel de Ville for the start of the concert at 15.30.
