Lithuanian sailors put their time on dry land to good use
10:10:10 has most definitely arrived and in 24 countries across Russia, Eastern, Central and Southern Europe and North Africa, something amazing is happening.
From the Nile to the Ural Mountains, a one-woman carbon-cutting revolution is greening lives and changing landscapes. Her name is Sandra Antonovic and as the 10:10 Hub coordinator for the entire region, she is overseeing the planting of 101,010 trees. That's right, 101,010!
Impressive? It's pretty much what you'd expect from a woman who's responsible for bringing 10:10 to 24 countries and who has personally signed up tens of thousands of people.
Tree planting in Latvia
The 'tree planting challenge' has been underway for a few weeks now, linking up thousands of schools, volunteers and other organisations.
It's pretty spectacular stuff. I don't have the technical mastery to know how much carbon will be sucked up by over 100,000 trees but I'd have thought it's a lot!
