Kyocera, 10:10's first business leader, have successfully launched their UK Technology Suite. Setting up in a new building in central London, they worked with their contractors to ensure very high environmental standards throughout.

Kyocera's refitter had no previous track record in low-carbon building, but the expertise they gained while working on the technology suite has given them access to a whole new section of the market.

The refit incorporates:

• Multifunctional layout making it suitable for a wide range of activities from board meetings to conferences.
• Maximum use of natural light, re-using existing materials wherever possible and using sustainably sourced furnishings and fixtures.
• Recycled and decomposable carpet printed with a pebble design,  transforming a meeting room into what is now known as the beach!
• Ethical office coffee supplier Red Cup who take away used grounds and transform them into pleasant-smelling compost.
• The discovery of good-quality, bright white eco paint.

As 10:10 businesses, we all have a great opportunity to spread lower-carbon  practices across our supply chains. Kyocera's refit is a great example of the potential for us to positively influence the organisations we work with, but no doubt there are plenty more out there.
