Hello
Again!

10:10 catches up with our Home of the Future winners

You might remember that late last year we teamed up with The Great British Refurb for the very exciting Home Of The Future competition. The winners were a very lovely 10:10 couple from Bristol by the names of Will Homoky and Catherine Beswick.

The couple were keen as mustard to tell us all about the massive difference their prize had made to their home. Thanks to the solar panels included as part of his win, William saw an incredible 118% cut in his bills (he can now sell surplus energy back to the grid) and an 85% fall in his carbon emissions.

"It's thanks to 10:10 that we heard of The Great British Refurb campaign and entered their competition to win the eco-refurbishment of our home," says Will. "Now we've cut our home's CO2 emissions by 80%, we've far surpassed our 10:10 commitment in just a matter of weeks! Still, I don't think our commitment stops here; we're careful not to waste energy around the home, and remain passionate about a low-carbon future for the UK.

"We've been here at Grand Designs Live to share our experience with the public and to offer support to those striving meet climate change head-on and cut their carbon emissions at home."
