Joining forces on Cyprus with AccessArts and KidCulture!

AccessArts is an independent 'multi-communal' organisation, founded in January 2004 to promote and inform the Cyprus creative scene islandwide and internationally. They have published Cyprus' first contemporary art magazine - ARTERI.

In May 2007, AccessArts brought the Guerilla Girls (US Feminist Activist Artists) to Cyprusfor an exclusive performance at Intercollege, Lefkosia and TekniArt, Pafos.  In 2009 AccessArts launched its 2nd publication - KidCulture, Cyprus' first family, parenting & education magazine.
In 2010 they hooked up with the 10:10 Global campaign & Nektarina to bring climate and environmental health awareness to Cyprus, and organised and supported a public screening and panel discussions with local environmental professionals and eco warriors.

And that is not all! Within Nicosia they only deliver by bicycle, and they plan to invest in a self charging electric eco bicycle in 2011!

They also committed to taking one less flight a year, plus they are composting, recycling, and using environmentaly friendly office products,

The eco conscious organisation is going for a more sustainable AccessArts as of 2010 having switched to an exclusively digital ARTERI, in order to reduce their carbon emissions and focus their energies on education, environment and health, through various projects including their 2nd publication ‘KidCulture’, which reaches schools islandwide, and in promoting ‘10:10’ in Cyprus.

‘KidCulture’ is Cyprus’ first family lifestyle and parenting magazine published and distributed by AccessArts Publications Ltd, a member of the Cyprus International Children's Organisations Network.
Born June 2009, the magazine aims to inform and entertain whilst providing new families with everything they need to know about life with kids in Cyprus.

The magazine offers intelligent, well researched and inspiring articles, news and tips on parenting and child issues, written in English and Greek, by professional writers and authoritive figures in education, health, research and child care, as well as parents, and in collaboration with NGO’s.
It also acts as an indispensible guide - through reviews and listings of the latest kids’ trends, technologies, products, venues, activities and events islandwide - that parents, teachers and researchers want to hold onto..!

Philosophy & Aims at the heart of this publication are :

* Encouraging healthy and environmentally conscious living

* Promoting a child centred approach and positive parenting/teaching for educational, physical and emotional development

* Supporting and helping foreign families to adapt to life in Cyprusand keep up to date with developments both here and abroad

* Disseminating vital news & information, on behalf of non-profit organisations

Cyprusis appreciated for its strong family values and slow pace, however it can often be a frustrating place to live, particularly for new parents and kids who need to be in touch with the latest trends, and those who are used to more forward thinking lifestyles and attitudes.

Today’s parents, more than ever, need to be well informed so that they’re in a position to make sound choices in creating a healthy, educational, loving and safe environment for their family...

KidCulture aims to promote awareness whilst offering indispensable information and support to those with the awsome and life changing, but extremely rewarding, role of nurturing children into healthy, confident and perceptive individuals!
