to be launched in 24 new countries

So, here we are, four weeks after we officially signed as a 10:10 hub, with our first blog! Nektarina, a non profit association with HQ in Croatia will be rolling out 10:10 campaign in 24 countries - yes, 24 :). That's a total of 8 million square miles and almost half a billion people! We divided them in four major regions:

 

and we'll be launching all of them during June, July and August, so stay tuned for news, updates and photos!

Nektarina, just 6 weeks shy from celebrating its first birthday this August, kicked off its environmental programme last autumn, by joining 350 October event, and by becoming an official partner of tcktcktck campaign. 

It was a challenging year for us, and as we struggled with projects and funding, we also struggled with support - there were so many of those who told us we are doing useless things, so many of those who did not understand our commitment, so many of those who made this past year even harder for us. 

But there were also those who inspired us and we sincerely thank them today, as we write you this blog as a proud 10:10 hub.

We know only too well that this is not the end of the challenge, but a beginning of a new one. And if we've learned anything in this past year of struggle, it is that every challenge is an opportunity!

Hence, we continue, and we move forward, laying out plans and strategies for our four big regions. We go East, and we go South, focused and determined to spread the 10:10 idea!

Other regions will follow with launches in July and August.

Our plans and how you can help:

We've set some pretty ambitious targets for ourselves - we're going to try and sign up at least three governments, Euro 2012 Football Championship (to be held in Poland & Ukraine) and 2014 Winter Olympics (to be held in Russia).  

We will be also working very closely with other NGOs and individuals, making thus the best of this year and setting some good foundation for years to come. We'll keep you posted by sending a monthly newsletter with news, photos and links, and you can help by signing up and joining the cause!
