Global
news round up

This week, we're sharing a round up of all Remade activities from the past month, news from 10:10ers in the Netherlands and their switch-off plans for 10 October, as well as the welcome rush in keeping up with the demand for our Solar Schools national rollout in the UK.

  • We're excited to announce that 10 October will be even bigger in the Netherlands this year! As if TV shows and national electricity meters in recent years weren't impressive enough, 10:10 Netherlands has now teamed up with the Dutch National Sustainability Day who have shifted their traditional date from 11/11 to 10/10! The day will be all about switching stuff off when it's not needed, and they'll be sharing details about individual actions planned soon. For now, check out this page for the announcement.

  • At 10:10 HQ, applications have been flooding in for the Solar Schools national rollout - especially after featuring last week in both the Guardian and the Times Education Supplement! The team here has already started calling schools across the country to a great response. Deadline day is Monday 14 May.

  • Over in Denmark, the Director of FEHA (Denmark's association of manufacturers and importers of household appliances) talked us through the future of low-carbon and low-water consumption washing machines in this blog.
  • Meanwhile, 10:10ers in Germany have been getting ready for their next Remade workshop, a free PC repair session with local expert PC-Service Kreuzberg. Contact Katie for details.
  • And if you want to know what happened at 10:10 Denmark's Remade workshop in Copenhagen, check out their blog here.
  • Lastly, Remade month came to an end this week and it’s had fantastic support from all over the world. There are some great stories of repairing skills being put to good use and we’ve thoroughly enjoyed receiving so many beautiful photos of your creative handiwork. We shared some of the highlights with you in this blog
