Global news round up

This week, we're sharing a round up of all Remade activities from the past month, news from 10:10ers in the Netherlands and their switch-off plans for 10 October, as well as the welcome rush in keeping up with the demand for our Solar Schools national rollout in the UK.

Remade: guides, clubs and classes near you

Hopefully Remade Month has inspired you to keep experimenting with new ways to fix things, and there are loads of local projects and online resources out there to help you hone your skills.

This week, we launched the national roll out of Solar Schools and brought our Remade initiative to an end (or at least we tried – the new ideas for fixing things just keep coming in).

Another Remade week at 10:10! This time, we've got some handy tips on how to remake your clothes, a 10-step guide on how to fix stuff from the Netherlands and a Remade workshop in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

10:10's Remade events

While we packed a couple of dozen 10:10ers into our tiny London office for a bike repair workshop, 10:10ers in the Netherlands went along to a series of special sessions at the Repair Cafe, 10:10 Denmark put on a clothes and bike repair session on the streets of Copenhagen, and 10:10 Germany ran a Spring bike check in Berlin that inspired one attendee to cancel his car lease and sign up to Germany’s Bike Club!

Remade around the worldNot to be outdone, 10:10 Bangladesh spread the Remade love outside Europe with a packaging-themed workshop in Dhaka. Check out their creations, or browse a full list of Remade events below.

This week, we celebrated climate week with a bunch of carbon cutting actions, got great veg box and carpooling advice from Italy, and learned about a Danish company aiming to cut 95% of their emissions next year.

  • Every week is climate week here at 10:10 HQ, but this week is Climate Week, which is different. As you might expect from an event that's all about getting on and doing stuff, 10:10ers including Spurs, the Science Museum and the British Council are right at the heart of the action – our friend Trevor Payne at UCLH even won a prize!
