Nektarina Non Profit is collaborating with Croatian Railways since the summer of 2009 on various projects. It was only natural to expand that collaboration once Nektarina Non profit became a 10:10 hub.
Our main goal was to overcome certain issues that Croatian Railways have had in the previous years (security issues), and to promote train travel as a low carbon option, both for commute and for holiday.
In October 2010 we agreed to work jointly on 10:10 Cut Carbon, Choose a Train campaign, and a large banner was placed on the front facade of the main railway station in the center of Zagreb just in time for 10:10:10 wave. (the banner was replaced just recently , at the end of January 2011, being thus exposed for entire four months on one of the most frequented points in Zagreb.
In 2011 we are continuing our collaboration with Croatian Railways on promoting train as a low carbon travel option. Besides schools and businesses, our campaign will expand to total demographics, as holiday season approaches.
Croatian Railways were kind enough to share the below summary with us (and this web site), providing a consice and comprehensive overview of their work and goals.

Railways are the safest carrier and more passenger and goods should be directed there. They help relieve the road network, conserve nature and non-renewable natural resources from devastation, decrease the number of road accidents and ecological catastrophes-respecting people and nature. Railways are an ecologically sustainable mode of transport because they are people and nature-friendly. Railway transport is environment-friendly. Comparative ecological advantages of the railways become at the same time market advantages.
