Over in the Netherlands, the 10th of October is the Dutch Day of Sustainability with good stuff happening all over the country. The chefs from Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen Amsterdam restaurant have developed a recipe for a special low carbon risotto; the media company Sanoma hosted a big clothing swap; and e-waste collections took place on Texel Island, in Amsterdam and in Utrecht. 10:10 NL has suggestions for actions people can take to save energy from electric appliances, gas / water consumption, clothing, food and transportation.

October 10 was also the final day of the 10:10 electricity meter tour stop on Texel Island and at Eindhoven University of Technology, where they have been tracking electricity use for one week to see if they can make reductions compared to a similar period in the past. There are photos of Texel Island’s unveiling, their team; and TU Eindhoven’s meter and a placemat in their cafeteria.
